**Sign-on Bonus $10,000

Salary range: $120k-$140k plus 20% Annual Bonus

SUMMARY:

Reporting directly to the Dean of Nursing, the Campus Associate Director of Nursing, Academics assists with providing leadership in managing and implementing a comprehensive registered nurse program in support of University, campus, and/or departmental goals in order to assure compliance with programmatic accreditation and/or licensure, internal consistency, and graduate outcomes that meet workplace and placement expectations.  Participates in curriculum development, quality control and coordination, determination of teaching assignments, orientation, supervision, development and evaluation of faculty. Collaborates with recruitment and hiring. Provides professional leadership and support for teaching faculty; serves as a mentor and facilitator for faculty assigned; and enables an environment, which fosters creativity, responsiveness, and self-responsibility.  Focuses extensively on ensuring the implementation of the academic program leads to outstanding student learning outcomes, including board exam passage rates that meet or exceed institutional goals.

  • Develops, communicates and tracks student-at-risk program action plans for students at risk for failure within the context of the University student success plan.  Ensures that appropriate remediation programs are developed that are consistent with similar programs at other WCU campuses.
  • Assures students are provided support services to maintain the highest level of student achievement while safeguarding the integrity of the educational process. 
  • Coordinates the student academic advisory role on behalf of the department. 
  • Recruits, trains, supervise, and evaluates department faculty; improves retention and morale and performance efficiencies.
  • Coordinates overall orientation of new faculty in program philosophy, mission, goals and learning outcomes, orientation to the campus, institutional policies, and clinical sites. 
  • Holds regular meetings with faculty and staff to share information, guidelines and procedures, coordinates activities, and to further communicate across the assigned department. 
  • Oversees faculty in overall and day-to-day operation and guidance of didactic, laboratory, assignments, and/or scheduling of classes.
  • Observes and provides feedback to faculty regarding performance.  Conducts ongoing faculty performance assessment and evaluation and provides frequent feedback at 30 days for a new hire and annually with any concerns with Faculty Course Evaluation (FCE).

EDUCATION:

Master’s or higher degree from an accredited college or university that includes course work in nursing, education or administration required.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge and evidence of strong supervisory and management skills as applicable to specialized program area. 
  • Knowledge of state, federal and local laws/regulations relating to programs, governmental compliance and other regulatory standards such as Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) or other nursing accrediting agencies, e.g., CCNA, CCNE,ACEN, and other accreditation standards.
