Description
DescriptionThe School of Education is seeking a visionary and collaborative leader to serve as Associate Dean for Graduate Programs, Faculty Success, and Continuous Improvement. This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic leadership team and help drive transformational initiatives that impact students, faculty, and the broader educational community.
As Associate Dean, you will be a key member of the school's leadership team, advancing innovative graduate programs, supporting faculty excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will help set the direction for impactful teaching, scholarship, and service, ensuring our programs prepare future educators and leaders for success.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
Examples of Duties
Faculty Support and Development
- Oversee recruitment, hiring, and evaluation of full- and part-time faculty
- Conduct annual performance reviews and support professional development plans
- Coordinate faculty workload and travel approvals
- Serve as director of the promotion and tenure process and assist with dossier preparation
- Participate in faculty grievance and appeal processes as appropriate
- Serve as Coordinator for PhD and EdD programs, overseeing compliance with Graduate School procedures
- Facilitate flexible scheduling of master's and doctoral-level courses to support program needs and faculty research
- Organize dissertation/project director meetings
- Conduct graduation checks and manage graduate student records
- Supervise Dean's Office GAs
- Assign and manage GA/TA contracts and professional development
- Support faculty in program assessment, comprehensive reviews, and accreditation documentation
- Coordinate the submission of assessment reports to the Associate Provost and external agencies
- Serve as ex officio member of the SOE Academic Affairs Committee
- Ensure timely updates to school websites and academic records
- Represent the Dean as needed and participate in outreach and administrative duties
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate in Education, Workforce Development, or a closely related field
- Ability to be tenured at the full professor level
- University leadership experience in academic administration (e.g., department chair, program director, or associate dean)
- Experience teaching at the university level, including graduate-level instruction
- Experience directing or serving on dissertation committees
- Scholarly activities that meet the expectations of a research-intensive university
Preferred Qualifications :
- Tenured at the full professor level
- Evidence of strong leadership, communication, and collaborative skills
