Description
The Dean of Students serves as a member of the school's administrative leadership team, supporting a safe, positive, and productive learning environment for all students. Working collaboratively with the Principal, Assistant Principal, staff, students, families, and community partners, the Dean of Students helps implement behavior, safety, and social-emotional supports while promoting student success and school connectedness. This position provides leadership in student behavior interventions, school climate initiatives, supervision, safety planning, and professional development.
Requirements
- Works as a member of the administrative leadership team to support instructional and student services by working directly with students and staff in a supportive role to ensure a positive learning environment for all
- Works with the Principal and Assistant Principal in carrying out the school’s behavior, safety and social/emotional programs
- Assists in creating a positive school environment conducive to teaching and learning
- Assists with discipline and behavior intervention and student supervision based on a tiered system of intervention
- Assists with and lead professional development as it relates to assigned duties
- Manages building safety and emergency response program including required safety drills
- Assists with supervision of lunch, recess, passing times, bus and parent drop off/pickup, before and after school and extracurricular activities
- Promotes connections between school, community, and other stakeholders
- Performs other related duties as assigned
